The implementation of the national project «Clean air» in Magnitogorsk is actively continuing.
The campaign also affected the sphere of waste tyres recycling. The population has been informed about the need to hand over tires for recycling for a long time. However, unauthorized landfills still appear on the outskirts of the city. 7 such dumps have already been cleared — the Magnitogorsk administration held an environmental campaign together with the tyre recycling company Podyemnik.
At the moment, the region has made great progress in interacting with legal entities that regularly hand over tyres for recycling, instead of burying it. As for the population, the city administration and the recycling company constantly remind residents of the need to hand over tires for recycling, and not throw them everywhere, polluting the soil and water with toxic waste that will decompose for more than 100 years.
Together with EcoTyresUnion special tire collection points are being prepared in Magnitogorsk, where all residents can hand over old tires for a symbolic amount (15-20 rubles for a tire from a car, about 60 rubles for a truck tyre). The amount is really symbolic, given the size of the administrative fine of 10,000 rubles for individuals and 500,000 rubles for legal entities.
It is planned to launch the points by the end of August. We hope that everyone who wants to get rid of used tires will be able to do it in special recycling points.
