We constantly talk about the need to take care of the environment. Therefore, it is always great to hear news from our partners in the field of building a system for used tires recycling.
In Saint Petersburg, a waste tyres recycling plant has been operating for several years already — the company Premio Crumb (www.premio-spb.ru). The company recycles about 8-10 thousand tons of waste tires per year. The technology of mechanical crushing does not cause any harm to the environment, and from the finished tire crumbs sports and road surfaces are made.
The company actively works with volunteers in the region, and together with the administration organizes sites for collecting tires from the population. So, in Vsevolozhsk there is a site where for 3 months more than one pile of used tires that were lying in nature have been collected and handed over for recycling.
It is also important to note that at the Gazpromneft gas stations there are specialized containers where you can hand tires over for recycling absolutely free of charge!
Since the start of the project this year, more than 60 tons of tires have already been collected. It is planned to further expand the network of collection points to 20 points, so that everyone can hand the tires over for free and in a convenient place.
Many people have become aware that they can influence the improvement of the environment. And most importantly, they not only understand this, but also make actions. We hope that the experience of the cultural capital of Russia will soon spread to other cities of our country.
