The administration of the Tyumen region invited Sergey Podoynikov, Executive Director of EcoTyresUnion, to a round table on tire recycling and the prospects for making new products on their base. The meeting was attended by a wide range of specialists and representatives of the administration, the development of the system for tyre collecting and recycling in the region was discussed.
Sergey Podoynikov made a keynote speech at the round table, told about the activities of the Union and about successful projects that were implemented in other cities.
When coming to new regions, EcoTyresUnion always offers environmental projects adapted to the specifics of the region, waste and infrastructure. Executive director of EcoTyresUnion visited Tyumen to study what programs exactly should be implemented in the region and which tyre recycling companies are ready to cooperate.
Even though this round table was a pilot one, it has already given start to a number of fundamental decisions to build a collection and recycling system.
Deputy Chairman of the regional Duma Committee on economic policy and environmental management Andrey Morgun stressed that the maximum involvement in recycling processes is necessary not only for the population, but also for business. After all, this is what environmental initiatives in the legislation are aimed at.
We hope that some of the planned initiatives will be implemented by the end of the year, during the tyre changing season.
