The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia held a round table » Modern approaches to solving the problem of waste recycling and ways to build a waste collection system on the territory of the Irkutsk region». The round table was devoted to the topic of business involvement in waste recycling. The region pays special attention to waste management. Therefore, today the main goal is to develop an economically attractive model of waste collection and recycling for regional businesses.
In his report, Sergey Podoynikov, Executive Director of EcoTyresUnion, spoke about the positive experience of building a tire collection system in the Russian Federation. General Director of the Irkutsk rubber processing plant (IRZ) – a partner of EcoTyresUnion — Hayk Gndlyan shared the results achieved and data on waste tyres recycling volume in the Irkutsk region. RT-NEO Irkutsk LLC, Baikal Ecology LLC, SIBEX LLC and BTYRE LLC also shared their experience in the field of separate waste collection and recycling. Even today, recyclers note that business representatives in the Irkutsk region actively participate in initiatives for separate waste collection and recycling, fulfilling the requirements of environmental legislation. However, further improvement and development of this system requires the support of regional authorities, Supervisory authorities and regional operators.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided that each recycler will send a comprehensive project with proposals on cooperation with the Government and Supervisory authorities to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia for further study and to hold individual meetings with each recycler depending on the subject of problems.
